I knew that I had to make that phone call. You could not imagine the fear that I felt just thinking about calling the DREADED dentist. I guess the reason for my fear was due to negative past experiences with local dentists. I called my regular dentist to ask for advice. They immediately referred me to Dr. Elizabeth Rushin. The voice that answered the phone was so sweet and reassuring. She identified herself as Mae and began to ask me some questions. She realized how upset that I was and continued to be understanding and thoughtful. Before I realized what had happened, I had an appointment for 2 days later. I did not sleep for the next two nights. Then the big day came. I drove from Dunn to Cary in tears. I forced myself to walk through that door with much apprehension. There at the desk when I entered was Mae - and she did have that smiling face that went with the calming voice. I sat down to fill out the required paperwork and other staff members came out and greeted me with a cheerful face. I went to the back and had the necessary procedures done and left. I had to return for my consult and felt more at ease when talking to the staff. I came back several weeks later for my procedure. I took my little pill that morning, got to the office, went to the back and got into the chair feeling completely at ease. I woke up at 3:45 p.m. at my house in the bed. I had no pain and did not remember anything. I am so happy now that I made THAT phone call. The staff at Dr. Rushin's office is great. You do not feel embarrassed because you are afraid. I would never even consider going to another dentist after the positive experience that I had.

Sincerely,
