"Dr. Rushin and Staff,
I have associated FEAR with the dentist all my life. During my childhood, my parents couldn’t tell me when it was time to go to the dentist, because I would worry myself sick. As an adult, it was no better. It was embarrassing to admit that I was so scared of going to the dentist. I would only go when absolutely necessary. Finally, I hear about Dr. Rushin and the sedation dentistry on the radio. For almost a year I had her phone number written down and would try to make myself call for an appointment. When it got to the point that I was afraid to chew sticky or hard food for fear I would break a tooth, I decided, I have had enough. I called and made the appointment for my consultation. It was about a week before I had to go and every day I tried to find excuses that would cause me to cancel the appointment. When the day arrived, I was very nervous, but as soon as I walked in and was greeted very warmly I started to relax. Every one there was so kind and didn’t make me feel embarrassed that I was afraid. After hearing about my treatment plan, I later made the appointment to have the work done. On “ the big day”’ I was very nervous again, but I took my pill an hour before my appointment and by the time I arrived, I was feeling relaxed. Everyone there pampered me as though I was at a spa. I really don’t remember anything more about my dental experience that day. I just have vague memories of getting in the car to go home, then waking up later that afternoon. I couldn’t believe it was tat easy. My advice to anyone who is afraid (or not afraid) of going to the dentist, to please call Dr. Rushins’s office and make an appointment. It will be one of the best decisions you will ever make. Thanks to each of you for your smiles and friendly personalities but mostly for the caring way you treat your patients. I no longer dread going to the dentist.
